This reminds me of a good show I watch. It’s called Alone on the History Channel. Contestants (normally survival guides, etc) see how long they can last in the wilderness with minimal tools, usually focused on building a shelter and capturing food. Some of them display some pretty cool foraging knowledge and techniques.

Is there any more perfectly prototypical swamp gig than sitting on a board of a large public company?
I agree. I have some public company stocks and see what the board people make, and all I can say is wow - that is a job that I want.
And these people all are on more than one board!

That Onion article never gets old, does it?
Oh, it wasn’t just one article if I remember correctly, there was a whole series based on Joe being “that guy”.

More like the Gulf of Mexico’s mullet.
Read the Lancet article. 60 cases from Jan and Feb. all were hospitalized with a mean length of stay of 15 days +/- 6 days.
So less severe means less severe of those hospitalized.
Wonder how the non hospitalized fared but maybe no base line MRI to know.

They are driving up land prices so much, that young local couples cannot afford housing where they grew up.
That would suck.

I am a computer programmer who is also a visionary leader.
Me too. I can do, and have done, both the detailed implementation of various things and the visionary creation and leadership of organizations. But I seldom do both at the same time.

THey are not predicting a significant increase in the death rate even as the new case rate is doubling every 14 days.
Seems rather optimistic.

In the event, their optimism was unfounded. Daily deaths now are about double the maximum number they predicted.
This is a thread where we discussed it.
